Visayan Tribal Bangle

This bangle was inspired by the traditional Visayan tribal tattoo. Visayan warriors (aka Pintados) were covered with tattoos as a symbol of their bravery. On this piece, there is a repeating hexagon design representing snake skin (safety, protection, health, shield, strength), a ladder pattern (to reach the heavens, achievement) and hourglasses (creation, fertility, sustenance).
